Join Tim Weisberg from Spooky Southcoast for THE WEARY SPIRITS OF THE WAYSIDE INN: FALL EDITION at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury, Massachusetts on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

The Wayside Inn is said to be the oldest continually-operating inn in the country, having opened its doors as Howe’s Tavern. It got its current moniker after an 1862 visit by the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow inspired him to write a series of poems called Tales from the Wayside Inn, including the poem that would come to be known as “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.”

The inn has quite a history – Henry Ford was the last private owner – but it also has quite the haunted past as well. Its most famous ghost is that of Jerusha Howe, the beautiful sister of the last Howe to serve as the innkeeper. It was supposedly at the inn where she met a handsome English gentleman and was instantly smitten; he promised to return to her after a brief stop back in his native England. However, he never returned, and it is rumored that she remains waiting for him to this very day. Many visitors report feeling her embrace or smelling her orange blossom perfume. People leave letters to her stuffed into the ceiling beams or in the secret drawer.

The Wayside Inn has not allowed a paranormal investigation in quite some time, so we are very fortunate that they are allowing us to hold this special night.

Tickets for this event are $150 each and are limited to just 40 people. That price includes dinner, lectures, and hours of guided investigation.

Your evening will begin at 5 p.m. Eastern with a dinner featuring prime rib, Boston baked scrod, roasted turkey with cornbread sausage stuffing, and much more (with vegan options as well). There will be a special presentation given by Tim as well as a historical overview of the Wayside Inn, followed by five hours of investigating the inn and the grounds. The event will end at 2 a.m.

Following your ticket purchase, you will also be able to purchase an optional add-on for a table-tipping session with Psychic Medium Stephanie Burke. Stephanie was able to make some incredible connections with the spirits of the Wayside Inn on our first visit there, and she will be holding intimate sessions to try and connect once again.

There are a limited number of rooms available to rent for the night from inn at an additional cost; once you purchase your tickets, if you wish to rent a room, reach out to tim@spookysouthcoast.com for the special code to be able to book a room that night. Rooms will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis for ticket purchases. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO BOOK A ROOM until you have received this code. They can only be booked by working with our representative Jessica at the Inn. If rooms sell out, we will seek a lodging deal at another nearby location.

PLEASE NOTE: This event will be subject to the current Massachusetts restrictions and regulations regarding COVID-19 at the time of the event. That means you could be required to wear a mask and/or social distance for some or all of the event. Please understand that these requirements will be followed if the state guidelines require them.
